This year marks “100 years” since the end of the Great War. To mark this significant anniversary, the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) of Regina is partnering with the Provincial Government to host a provincial Armistice Ball. In commemoration, we plan to gather as a community on November 9, 2018, at Queensbury Centre Ballroom - Evraz Place in Regina, to pay tribute to those who fought and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
Almost one third of them have no known grave. They fought in
the trenches under horrendous conditions; rain, snow, mud and sickness. They faced bullets, artillery and poison gas. In the end the Canadians
were the shock troops of the British Empire, leading the charge of
the last 100 days that forced the Germans to sign the Armistice. It is said
that it was the valiant actions of our soldiers at Vimy and many other
battles that truly gave birth to Canada as a nation.”
Since the end of that bloody conflict, the Royal United Services Institute of Regina has traditionally marked this significant anniversary by holding what has become known as the Armistice Ball. It is our intent to make this Ball grand enough to be worthy of the occasion, but priced at a point to allow the average citizen of the province to be able to attend.
It is with humility and appreciation that we invite you to be a sponsor at this meaningful endeavor. While this is not meant as a fundraising event, any profits will be donated to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund. Sponsorship information is enclosed.
We ask you to be generous and help us make this event worthy of the 100th Anniversary.
